Freshman Icebreaker
Notre Dame
March 24-25, 2007
Despite the classic st. joe's lake wind shifts,the Freshman Icebreaker was a successful regatta. On Saturday The morning began with cloudy sky and shifty winds mainly out of the northwest at 3-6 in the morning building slightly as the day went on. 8 races in both A and B divisions were completed. Windward Leeward twice arounds and triangle windward leewards were sailed. two boats filed for a breakdown. No Protests were filed
On Sunday the remaining 4more races were sailed in each division completing the rotation. Winds Sunday were were about 6 with occasional puffs reaching 7 but temperatures in the upper sixties made for a very enjoyable day of sailing Courses were windward leeward twice arounds and windward leeward three times around. one breakdown for a broken tiller extension and two protests were filed.
