As of today there will be some changes that were enacted by the ICSA during the annual meeting. Below is a list of the voted in changes. For the full list of documentation and resources provided at the ICSA meeting Please go to the ICSA webpage.

Notable Changes:

Semifinals and Finals Schedule Change: In an effort to give the conferences another weekend of competition that could be used for qualifiers the COED semi-finals will be placed the two days before COED finals. The schedule for the entire nationals bracket (including semifinals) is the following.

Day 1 – AGM/Afterguard Regatta

Day 2 – Women’s Semifinals Day 1

Day 3 – Women’s Semifinals Day 2

Day 4 – Women’s Nationals Day 1

Day 5 – Women’s Nationals Day 2

Day 6 – Team Race Nationals Day 1

Day 7 – Team Race Nationals Day 2

Day 8 – Team Race Nationals Day 3

Day 9 – Coed Semifinals Day 1

Day 10 – Coed Semifinals Day 2

Day 11 – Coed Nationals Day 1

Day 12 – Coed Nationals Day 2

In relation to the above the following has been voted in.

Women’s semifinals: 

Expand the women’s semifinals to two 14 boat fleets (28 teams, no automatic advancement to finals). Qualify 18 team (9 from each semi) to the finals. Two days of semis, two days of finals.

Men’s finals:

Expand format to include 16 teams. Modify rotation/schedule to accommodate.

COED’s:

Move Semifinals out of regular season to 2 days before coed Nationals. Make the whole thing a 4 day event with a 2 day semifinals (2 fleets of 18) and a 2 day finals (1 fleet of 18 utilizing both fleets of boats).

Hosting:

Nationals must be hosted in two fleets of 18 boats for 36 boats total.
