ICSA Fowle Trophy Conditions

The Leonard M. Fowle Memorial Trophy shall be awarded to the team of the College or University with the greatest number of Fowle Trophy Points.

The Fowle Trophy Award shall be determined using the composite results of the Women's Singlehanded, Men's Singlehanded, Intermediate Sloop, Women's Dinghy, Team Racing, and Coed Dinghy North American Championships.

The results of other ICSA/NA Championships may be added to the composite in the future by the Board of Directors.

Each team shall receive points toward the Fowle Trophy Award based on its finishing place in each of the events in the composite. Except that only the best finishing place in the Women's Singlehanded and Men's Singlehanded Championships shall be used to determine the points for each school in those events.

The points received by a team for each of the Championships shall be added. The team with the highest number of points shall place first. The team with the second highest number of points shall place second, and so forth.

Ties for first place in the Fowle Trophy points shall be broken in favor of the team with the best record in the Coed Dinghy Championship. A team participating in the Dinghy Championship shall have a better record than one not participating. If the tie is not resolved by considering the Dinghy Championship results, the same method shall be used considering, in order, the Team Racing Championship, Women's Dinghies, Sloop Championship, Men's Singlehanded Championship, and then the Women's Singlehanded Championship, results, until it is resolved. If the above does not resolve the tie, the tie shall stand.
