ICSA Guidelines for Graduate Secretaries

INTER-COLLEGIATE SAILING ASSOCIATION OF NORTH AMERICA

  1. Take minutes of District meetings and distribute to all District member colleges and officers.
  2. Send notices to all District member colleges with updated information pertaining to the District and/or ICSA.
  3. Develop and maintain a method of accounting for sailors' eligibility.
  4. Ensure that sailors comply with ICSA regulations regarding registration with a District.
  5. If there is no separate scheduling person, Work out the District racing schedule with the Executive Committee and develop a method or maintain the current method of signing up teams for regattas. Keep in touch with teams and the ICSA Intersectional Schedule Coordinator regarding current entrants and any withdrawals
  6. Receive, review and keep a file of regatta reports from all regattas hosted by District member colleges.
  7. Distribute copies of District Intersectional regatta reports to the appropriate Graduate Secretaries and the Intersectional Schedule Coordinator. These should include regatta highlights or narrative, race-by-race results, and RP forms.
  8. Be familiar with and follow policies contained in ICSA documents:

    a) Procedural Rules
    b) By-Laws
    c) Conditions for North American Championship

    regattas.

  9. When a successor is elected, turn over all records in good order and in a timely manner.
