ICSA Guidelines for Intersectionals

(6/4/00)

INTER-COLLEGIATE SAILING ASSOCIATION OF NORTH AMERICA

  1. Communication is through Graduate Secretaries or District Scheduling Personnel and the Intersectional Schedule Coordinator.
  2. Berths for Intersectional Regattas must be reported at least 1 month in advance or those berths will be given away.
  3. Withdraws from an Intersectional Regatta must be made on or before the Friday 2 weeks in advance in order to avoid a No Show. However, there is a one-month withdraw deadline for the following regattas: Timme Angsten, Sugar Bowl(s), Mendelblatt, Rose Bowl, Nelson Roltsch, Charleston Spring. (Beginning Fall, 1998).
  4. Copies of regatta reports, including RP forms, are to be forwarded to the Intersectional Coordinator as well as the appropriate Graduate Secretaries (as per Procedural Rule 16).
  5. Invites are offered to teams following consultation with the host college.
  6. When out-of-district berths become available at intersectionals, those berths are to be filled by the Intersectional Coordinator using the following method: First host district, 2-3 out-of-district; 4 host, 5-6 out-of-district, etc.
  7. Qualifying regattas for North American Championships are to be scheduled at least two weeks prior to the corresponding North American Championship except Women's dinghies, which are required to be held in time for report by the end of Spring week-end #13.
  8. ICSA encourages the promotion of competition among Member Colleges from any two Districts. The Scheduling Officers from the two Districts involved shall be responsible for determining the conditions and for scheduling two-District regattas, and the results shall be reported to the Graduate Secretaries of both Districts. Such events shall not be placed on the Intersectional Schedule unless intersectional status is requested, in which case the conditions and scheduling shall require approval of the Board of Directors. These regattas shall not be subject to ICSA penalties for No Shows or Intersectional Fees.
