Saturday: A beautiful day on the Charles with winds starting out from the NW at 5-7 knots, shifting to a frustrating NE at 5 knots by noon, and then all the way to an atypical SE seabreeze at 5 knots by late afternoon which died away.

Courses were W5 or W3 depending on wind strength. 1 BKD was awarded for a broken clew and 11 other requests for redress for the same race were denied and resulted in 17 DSQ's from not sailing the course in Race 7. 18 races in both A and B division were sailed, with A in FJ's and B in Techs Saturday and then switched for the remaining 8 races on Sunday. Sunday: A beautiful day on the Charles with winds starting out from the NW at 5-7 knots, shifting to E at 12 knots by noon, and then all the way to an atypical SE seabreeze at late afternoon which died away. Sunday's breeze was squirrelly from the NE veering into the E then SE then S by the end of the afternoon. Congrats to the Crimson who held on to win by one point over their river rivals MIT.

Thanks go to Fran Charles, Matt Lindblad, Zac Nelson, Jillian Reddy, Gwen Capron, Patrick Barrigan, Tevis Nichols, and Chuck Bernstein for running the races, to Wally Corwin, Smanatha Lewenberg and Conan Hom for Dock staff help, and to Dayan Paez and Toan Tran-Phu for scoring help.

Big thanks to the judges Bill Lynn, Peter Fleming, and Cardwell Potts for figuring out a difficult situation on Saturday. Peter Fleming was joined by Stew Neff, Tripp Allyn and Lisa L. Keith on

Saturday: The breeze was shifting from NE to N to NW in the am. The RC was only able to get in one race in A division after two hours of moving marks. After a postponement the breeze filled from the ESE ranging from 3 to 8 knots. Six races in A and 4 in B before darkness enveloped the river.

Sunday: Breeze started out NE at 6 knots and gradually went right throughout the day. The last few races were sailed in 3-5 knot SSE. No protests or breakdowns. Several general recalls. Many thanks to the judges: Abby Coplin, Ewell C. Potts IV and John Pratt. More thanks to Matt Knowles and John

Timme Angsten Memorial Regatta

Chicago Yacht Club

November 28-30 2008

Eleven races were sailed in each Division. There was one DSQ in the last race when Salve Regina╒s B skipper attempted to match race and got too close to windward when trying to keep Wisconsin from the starting line. Without the DSQ the two teams would have tied with Wisconsin winning the tie breaker. Boats: 420

ALLSTATE SUGAR BOWL

Tulane/UNO/SYC

December 30-31, 2008

Tuesday started out with 4 knots of wind from the north, which died down during the first set, before peaking around 1pm at 7 knots. The wind then settled back to 4-5 knots from the northeast for the rest of the races. 8 A-division and 4 B-division races were sailed. Wednesday started off much more promising with 12-15 knots from the north. This breeze quickly died down to 8 knots from the northwest, leaving lots of chop and tricky conditions. Later in the day the chop went down as the wind dipped to 6 knots. 6 races were sailed in A-division and 10 were sailed by B-division.

Thanks to our PRO, Peter Hopkins, and the race committee, as well as Allstate and the Loyola and UNO sailors who helped out. Boats - 420's
